Web Design 1 (Ages 8 - 10)

In this Web design course, the students will create a trivial online quiz using a web editing software NVU. They will create exciting and interactive Web sites containing graphics, animation and sound. They will also be introduced to the basic of HTML coding (Hypertext Markup Language, a language that is used in the creation of webpages). They will also learn how personalised graphics/images can be created with basic programs like MS PowerPoint (or OpenOffice Impress) and MS Paint.

At the end of the module, the group members will exhibit their completed Web sites to the entire class. The participants will also publish/upload their completed Web sites on the World Wide Web.

Web Design 2 (Ages 10 - 14)

In this Web design course, the students will learn skills needed to create an exciting, impressive Web sites without heavy investment on specialised software. They will learn the concept of web design by understanding the basic of HTML coding (Hypertext Markup Language, a language that is used in the creation of webpages). To spice up their web presentation, the students will also be introduced to CSS (Cascading Style Sheet, a stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of a document written in a markup language). They will also learn how personalised graphics/images can be created with basic programs like MS PowerPoint (or OpenOffice Impress) and MS Paint. They will then be introduced to a user-friendly web editing software (NVU) to create exciting and interactive Web sites and Adobe Photoshop to create graphics, layout and images.

At the end of the module, the group members will exhibit their completed Web sites to the entire class. The participants will also publish/upload their completed Web sites on the World Wide Web.

Flash Animation (Ages 10 - 14)

In this course, students will learn how to create a Macromedia Flash movie and animated Gif images to enhance the appearance of their website. They will create objects using shape tools, inserting text and images. They will then manipulate the objects in their respective layers, inserting sound and design motion to create a impressive short movie clip. They also learn how to create navigation buttons and working with simple ActionScript commands. The result, an engaging website.

Programming 3 (Flash ActionScript)

In this course, students will be introduced to Flash to create a Hang-Man game. Students will create the graphics needed for the game in Flash using the different tools available such as line tool, circle tool and rectangle tool. They will also learn simple animation to create an engaging introduction page to their game. Students will then be introduced to Actionscript to create the needed AI (Artificial Intelligence) for the game. They will use Actionscript for logic, randomization and more.
